Confession time - compromise isn't my strong suit, especially since I'm a designer (and obviously always right, right?). When we tackled our unfinished basement, I embraced my husband's ideas, and we ended up going with his layout proposal. Shocking, I know! Since then, I've stopped instantly vetoing his ideas and started really listening. Turns out, two brains are better than one, and our functional, beautiful space is proof. Oh, and about the TVs - men and their multiple screens, right? Well, when we finished our basement bar with its stunning jade granite countertop, splash, and copper fixtures, I put my foot down. No plain black TVs here! If he wanted a SECOND TV in our basement, it had to be a Samsung Frame TV because it's not just a TV; it's art, just like our bar.
